Contains memoir in which East discusses his induction into the army, his assignment to Corregidor in the fall of 1941, his movement to Bataan in the April 1942, capture and participation in the Bataan Death March, and the hardships he endured for the following 38 months as a prisoner of war in the Philippines and Japan until the end of World War II. Also includes photocopies of articles written about the Bataan Death March, East's situation as a prisoner, and the correspondence he sent from the prison camps. Also contains medical documents that discuss East's struggle with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and photocopied photographs of East.
